How Evaporative Cooling Pads Work

Evaporative cooling technology is based on the natural principle that water absorbs heat when it evaporates. When air passes over the wet cooling pad, the water evaporates and absorbs heat from the air, thereby reducing the air temperature. This process can reduce the intake air temperature by up to 10-15°C, while using only about 1/4 of the energy of traditional air conditioning systems.

Evaporative cooling efficiency depends mainly on three factors

Difference between the dry-bulb and wet-bulb temperatures of the air: the greater the temperature difference, the better the cooling effect.
Evaporation efficiency of the cooling pad: high-quality cooling pads can usually reach 80-90% efficiency.
Speed ​​of air passing through the cooling pad: the optimal speed range is 1.5-2.5 m/s.

Plastic cooling pad: easy to clean, resistant to algae growth
Structural parameters
Thickness selection: common 100mm, 150mm and 200mm. Thicker pads provide better cooling effects but increase wind resistance.
Corrugation angle: the optimal angle is 45°, which can provide the maximum evaporation area at low wind resistance.
Surface area: high-quality cooling pads can provide about 500㎡ of evaporation area per cubic meter.
